BREAKING: CBS Sports Under Fire for āShamelessā Post About Angel Reese Fans Are OUTRAGED
WNBA star Angel Reese was at the Chase Center on Thursday night to watch Maryland and Florida square off in the NCAA Tournament.
Reese showed up to this Sweet 16 game to support for her younger brother Julian, a senior forward for the Terrapins. He had 12 points and eight rebounds in Marylandās loss to Florida.
With Maryland trailing by 16 points to Florida in the second half, TNTās camera crew showed Reese upset in the stands. She received a sarcastic shoutout from longtime broadcaster Kevin Harlan.
āThis time last year, she [Reese] and some player from Iowa [Caitlin Clark] ā I canāt recall her name ā were really good and captured the imagination of the basketball world,ā Harlan said.
TBS.
Most fans enjoyed Harlanās joke during the broadcast. What they didnāt appreciate, however, was a social media post from CBS Sports. It showed Reese in the stands along with this caption: āAngel Reese does not appear pleased.ā
āThis is news? Why would she be happy about her brotherās team losing? Revoke the privileges please,ā one person replied.
āIām sure if you pan to the faces of any other Maryland fan in the crowd they would look the same,ā a second fan commented. āGroundbreaking journalism, CBS sports.
āIf she was smiling w her brotherās team losing in his final collegiate game yāall would say sheās weird,ā another person said. āLeave her alone of course sheās not happy his team is out.ā
āThank you for stating the obvious, groundbreaking journalism,ā a fourth person wrote.
WNBA fans wonāt tolerate any unwarranted criticism, thatās for sure.
Reese has not responded to this post from CBS Sports. Besides, she doesnāt have to explain herself to anyone.
It doesnāt take a genius to realize Reese was upset about her brotherās team falling short in the Sweet 16. Thereās nothing else to it.
